About Rheagyn Uthoff Photography

Hi there! I'm Rheagyn, a photographer in the Cedar Rapids Iowa area that specializes in anything from portraits (both human and pet!) to stunning images of the great outdoors. My love for photography started after I began participating in 4H. At first, it was just the occasional random photo I liked that I entered in the county fair, but after several years of getting judged and learning more about photography, I fell in love with it. I didn't start an actual business until the spring of 2022, when I was asked to take high school graduation photos of my older brother, Drew. I learned a ton of valuable information from this experience, much of which has helped to shape me into the photographer I am today. Since then, I have taken professional photos of families, pets, and nature that my clients love as much as I do. As with anything in life, I am continually learning in hopes of providing my clients with the best photos and experience I possibly can.

My love for painting and honestly art in general stretches back about as far as I can remember. As a little kid, I was always bringing crafts I made at school home to my parents. Now obviously, I was pretty bad at painting when I was that young, but as I got older, it became less of a hobby and more of a passion. Something about all of those colors coming together to form a unique piece of art just takes my breath away, and I love being able to share that with others. I mostly paint landscapes, (usually inspired by photos I've taken) but I do love a good commission! I learn new things every time I create one. They challenge me, and I find that incredibly important in what I do. My style of painting when it comes to people and animal commissions is something I like to call geometric painting, that I learned in art class. I find all the shapes in a photo and paint those, which helps to bring out the most important aspects. The final product ends up looking a lot like a paint by number, which makes it a completely unique and startlingly realistic piece. If you want to order a print, painting, or commission, please reach out! I am happy to help you with whatever you need! Or, if you just feel like browsing, don't forget to check out my gallery! Thank you so much for stopping by! I can't wait to work with you!
